Times Have Changed

Years ago crime was mostly something that happened in the big cities. I'm from a small town in Kentucky, and crime around here was usually shoplifting or selling some marijuana. But now, the spread of violent crime and crack cocaine has infiltrated even this little burg.

My partner and I came off the creek bank from a day of fishing. When we arrived at the car, two big fellows with clubs were attempting to break into our car. We dropped our gear and yelled at them. The only thing is, we expected them to run. They didn't run. They were determined to rob our car, and now our person as well.

My partner said they could have his gold ring if they would just go. He held it out for them to look, then all of a sudden....(http://scenttracker.webs.com/peppersprays.htm) the tide turned, he dropped his club, I picked it up and they ran for the hills. You never know when you'll need protection. We were simply on a fishing trip, and it could have gone badly, if my partner hadn't been prepared.
